When Igor Haschke founded Scansonic in 2000, his goal was clear: bring smart, practical solutions to industrial production. As a mechanical engineer, he wanted to show what laser technology could really do—especially when it’s built for real-world use.
Right from the start, things took off. Volkswagen came on board as the first customer, and the development of ALO (Adaptive Laser Optics) made an early statement. The tactile seam tracking system made laser soldering more precise and more reliable than ever—and quickly became a new standard in car body manufacturing.
From a single idea to global use
What started as a single idea has grown into a broad portfolio: laser welding, soldering, cutting, hardening, and cladding. More than 4,400 ALO systems are now in use around the world—in e-mobility, series production, and wherever precision and process stability matter. Today, Scansonic is a global leader in car body laser applications.
Happy Birthday to us
In 2025, Scansonic turns 25. We’re marking the occasion on LinkedIn with a look back at some key moments—from startup beginnings to the laser-based tech shaping production today.
