Through a robust and reliable solution for extracting CO₂ from ambient air, Ucaneo enables both emerging and traditional industries to reduce or offset their carbon footprint. In a spectacular funding round in September 2024, they raised €6.75 million. Now comes the next big success: Aramco Ventures joins the selective group of leading hardware and energy investors. Aramco Ventures is the venture capital arm of Aramco, one of the world’s largest integrated energy and chemical companies.
Ucaneo has just launched its first industrial pilot plant here on campus, with a capacity of up to 50 tons of CO₂ per year. It is already one of the largest industrial DAC pilot plants in Germany. The investment from Aramco Ventures will drive the construction of one of the largest DAC demonstration plants in Germany, scheduled to go into operation in Berlin in the first half of 2026. Beyond financial support, the investment also paves the way for potential joint scaling and the construction of future commercial facilities.
So, we remain excited to see what else will emerge from here.
